8 p.m. - 2 a.m.
NO COVER CHARGE all night long!
Ages 21+
Remember, Monday Jan. 19th is a HOLIDAY so arrive early and stay late this Sunday night!
ATMOSPHERE is a new *free* monthly club event that celebrates the best in dirty underground U.K. and U.K.-influenced post-punk, dreampop and art-school
music. Led by club scene veterans DJ Medusa and DJ Strange, and hosting the occasional guest DJ, ATMOSPHERE is held at The Blue Room on the 3rd Sunday of every month.
ATMOSPHERE debuts this Sunday night, January 18th, 2004.
We will kick-start the night at 8 p.m. sharp. This week's guest, a local DJ from the D.C. area, DJ Trickster (Rick Taylor) is a man whose obsession with moody U.K. indie knows no bounds. You may also catch his frequent spots at the open turntable night, Hi-Fi, at The Blue Room on Wednesday nights, where he spins his particular blend of post-punk, shoegaze and jangle pop.
>From the classics to forgotten favorites and brand new artists, ATMOSPHERE is your definitive home for edgy, left-of-center alternative music rooted in mood, emotion and experimentation.
Some of the bands you are likely to hear at ATMOSPHERE include: Joy Division, New Order, Wire, The Cure, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Smiths, Morrissey, The Go-Betweens, The House Of Love, Ride, Catherine Wheel,
Chapterhouse, My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins, The Jesus & Mary Chain, Adorable, Kitchens Of Distinction, Radiohead, Doves, Longwave, Interpol, Elefant, The Stills, and British Sea Power.
